Fuel up with blue milk and death star by chocolate: Australia’s first official Star Wars™ eatery opens at Melbourne Museum
Opening weekend booked out!
Fans of the Star Wars™ saga are in for an out-of-this-world experience, as Australia’s first Star Wars Galactic Café launches exclusively at Melbourne Museum today.
This Australian-first food and beverage concept will welcome more than 2,000 people during its first month of operations, with limited walk-ins available through the opening weekend.
Developed and designed in collaboration with Museums Victoria, Disney and Lucasfilm, the Star Wars Galactic Café brings fan-favourite Star Wars moments to life with a galaxy-inspired menu and themed fit out.
The cultural phenomenon of Star Wars is proving once again to be a draw card for people in Melbourne following the opening of the world-first LEGO® Star Wars™: The Exhibition at Melbourne Museum, and fans are encouraged to enhance their experience at the Star Wars Galactic Café with a visit to the exhibition.
Set against the backdrop of one of the world’s most beloved galaxies, travellers will step aboard a Corellian Star Cruiser and dine on dishes inspired by iconic characters and moments from across the saga, taking them on a culinary journey to a galaxy far, far away.
Along with legendary blue milk, further interstellar delights on the menu include the high-stakes classic Canto Bight Burger (straight from one of the galaxy’s most lavish cities) and vegetarian Sorgan Burger. Crunchy Sweet Potato Asteroid Fields wedges make for the perfect sidekick to either burger option.
In a dose of Melbourne hospitality flair, a refreshing and peaceful plate of Naboo Garden Vermicelli noodles and Outer Rim Chicken Katsu, bring cosmic, pan-Asian flavours to the table.
Catering to fans of all ages, younglings can fuel up for adventure with either the Endor Explorer pack with chicken nuggets or the Padawan Power pack with a Hummus and salad sandwich – with both packs offering healthy fruit and biscuit snacks to keep energy shields at full power.
Sweet tooths can indulge in the decadent dessert space station, Death Star by Chocolate – a bitter parfait with Sith-dark sponge. Travellers can then bid the galaxy goodbye with a Chewie Cookie - a snack sturdy enough for a smuggler and sweet enough for a co-pilot.
The Star Wars Galactic Café builds on Museums Victoria’s commitment to delivering unique hospitality experiences that complement its exhibitions and cultural programs — turning every visit into a fully immersive journey.
The Star Wars Galactic Café opens exclusively at Melbourne Museum tomorrow June 7. Open from 10:30am – 3:30pm, daily for a limited season, bookings are encouraged and can be made here. Limited walk-ins are available. View the full menu and accompanying images here.
